2010 DWAA Writing Competition Information

The 2010 competition will accept entries after June 30, 2010, and the entry deadline will be September 1, 2010. Work published between September 1, 2009 and August 31, 2010 is eligible.

Professional and amateur writers are welcome, as long as the work has been published. Unpublished work or manuscripts are not eligible. Previously published works are NOT eligible.

Competition entry forms and information will be updated and available on the website by June 1, 2010. At that time DWAA will publish a complete list of regular categories and Special Awards, which will be similar to the 2009 list. Special Awards also feature a cash grant offered by the award sponsor.

Nominees are announced in December. Each year, the DWAA Awards Banquet is held the evening prior to the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York City, usually the second week in February. Winners are announced that night, and receive the DWAA Maxwell Medallion honoring their work.
